We have teamed up with Brandy and Michael to produce the new and improved Latin Fusion TV shows. Latin Fusion TV is a mix of culture, arts and entertainment focusing on the Latino community. The goal is to entertain and inspire. We love what they are doing and feel the strength of the show is the people and their stories. We've got alot of material to work with and a great team. Feel free to visit LatinFusion and sign up for their newsletter: http://latinfusiontv.com/index.html
Some of our first interviews were filmed at La Mafia's 30th Anniversary Concert. It was certainly a blast from the past! The show was literally a "Who's Who" of the Tejano industry. We even got to meet some of the artists backstage (pictured above is Little Joe).

The Mayor's Commission on the Status of Women hosted its fourth annual celebration of International Women's Day and Joe and I attended the luncheon. We heard a wonderful keynote speaker, National Public Radio's Latino USA Managing Editor Maria Hinojosa. We had the pleasure of talking with her after the luncheon. What a storyteller!
The forum was a great meeting of the minds. It brought together more than 300 women from nonprofit, business and civic groups, who participated in a series of discussions and participated in an organizational fair.
The mayor also announced the Mayor's Commission on the Status of Women "Pathways to Leadership Scholarship." With major underwriting from USAA, plus donations from individuals and businesses throughout the community, the Mayor's Commission was able to raise more than $25,000.

Lee, Eileen, Janet, Gay Lynn, Irene, Joe and Melissa take time for a photo.
Great job! The party is at Lee's Friday!

Congratulations to the "Can't Beat Love" Viceo Contest winners sponsored by the National Council of Jewish Woman and the Family Violence Prevention Services. We had a great time at the gala last night where the winners showcased their art. The pieces were creative and focused on the issue of teen dating violence. Joe and I were happy to co-sponsor the event and serve as committee members. After the event, we met many of the winners...they were so happy and excited! For several this was their first attempt behind the camera.
Thanks to the committee and our friend, Eileen Teves of Great Day SA who served as the mistress of ceremonies!
Congrats to the winners and their teachers!
