Creative Process: How we work
The Creative Process
Beginning a video project can be overwhelming, especially if you don’t know what to expect. That’s why we like letting you know up front how our creative process works. It’s just another way Applebox Joe Productions exceeds client expectations.
Consultation
We know your time is precious. That’s why our first step is a telephone call to see what your video needs are. From here, we can give you a better idea of the project scope, including services needed, timeline and cost.
At our first meeting, you’ll meet and brainstorm with our team. Ask any questions you’d like, we’ll answer them all. We’ve got experience in commercials, training/educational videos, corporate videos and much more.
Conceptualization
Concepts are created from a great amount of information; from listening to your needs and reviewing marketing materials you already have. We gather this and more to develop key points in the video project. Our team will develop ideas to effectively communicate your message to your chosen audience.
Presentation
Our team will present two to three concepts and written scripts for review. Depending on the project, we occasionally use a storyboard to help you visualize the idea. With your input, we’ll work to perfect the concept to enhance the image of your company.
Preproduction
Once the concept and script are approved, we’ll focus our attention on the production timeline. Television commercials that will be filmed in 2 to 3 locations typically take 4 hours to shoot. A music video or training video often requires several days of filming, depending on the sites and storyline. In addition, we will coordinate music selection, actors, and voiceover talent for the project.
Production
This is what we live for! With everything now in place, our team works to ensure that production runs smoothly. The production team is compiled of experienced crew who have often worked on several other projects together.
After production, the editing takes place. A good rule of thumb is that for every minute of video, it takes 8 hours to edit. We may require additional items from you such as company logos or company information to include.
Final Presentation
The finished video is now ready for your review. We are able to email the project, but we encourage clients to come to our state-of-the-art High Definition facility for better viewing. After viewing, you can suggest changes. After modifications are made, you’ll be asked to sign off on the project. It is then prepared for mastering to a medium that you will be using to distribute the information. We can also prepare and deliver the video for placement on any television station.
